What was made possible by your support in the 2023/2024 school year at the "Rising International Bilingual School, Bertoua"?

Events in which the school participates every year were a great success again. On "Teachers Day" we celebrated our great teachers and on "Youth Day" the students were able to shine again at the parade in Bertoua. At the end of the year, all students, parents and teachers celebrated the end of 2023 at the annual Christmas party with lots of music and dancing.

During the rest of the school year, we were able to organize several excursions with the pupils. The kindergarten children were able to let out their energy on a trip to the outdoor pool. The older pupils visited the regional headquarters of MTN Cameroon and the headquarters of the national gendarmerie. There, the children learned important information about telecommunications, media, technology and about the Cameroonian legal system, security and future career opportunities.

While we are still waiting for the school kitchen to be built, cooking workshops are being held with the primary school children on the school campus. In these, we place particular emphasis on introducing the children to traditional Cameroonian cuisine.

Another highlight this school year was the visit from the German office of the Hope Foundation. Ms. Ellfeldt conducted a workshop with the 5th and 6th grade students about the global textile industry and it's connection to Cameroon. At the end, the pupils were able to design their own T-shirt with wishes for the future of their country, using textile pens. The children's creativity was also further encouraged. In December, various workshops were held at the school, where the children had the opportunity to try out colorful designs and discover their artistic skills.
We still need your support so that the school's facilities, such as the kitchen, can be expanded and our goal of building an education center can be completed!
