Kager Dispensary is to expand its infrastructure to create rooms for baby deliveries, labor rooms immunization room and Antenatal Care room. This will specificallly benefit the women and the under 5 years old children

Kager Dispensary began oprating in Kager village from the year 2001. The project came as a result of the many deaths due to simple disease which could be treated, but since there was no health facility many people were dying.
A piece of land was given by a local, and local fundraising was done by a the vision bearers, which eventually led to the putting up of the current building.
The project currently has three trained staffs on who are on pay, and an administrator and his assistant who works as volunteers and two community health workers.
Kager Dispensary is located in Kager Village of Central Kochia location along Imbo Olare Road, in Homa Bay District of Kenya.The facility serves three locations with a population of 3000 people.
Kager Dispensary has began offering Mother Child Health and Antenatl Care. The community has been suffering from the poor services of unskilled birth attendants, which has lead to both the death of the child and the mother when complications occurs. This is largely due to excessive bleeding, lack of skill from the birth attendant and lack of a facility to help reduce this.
Due to the size of the current building, Kager Dispensary has not enough space for MCH/ANC services, and even a room for Delivery. We have now embarked on expanding the facility to creat room for the overwhelmed patients who come for these services. Since the program began, we have had over 10 live births within the building and we see this increasing significantly. Our expansion plan is to create a delivery room/ recovery room and also rooms for vaccinations of children and expectant mothers.
The donations will help us secure building materials and pay for skilled labour to help expand the current building. The community has donated an extra land for the expansion, seeing the need to have these services offered in the right place. The community members are also willing to provide unskilled labor during the building process to reduce the cost.
We make special appeal to donors to come and help this project achieve its mission.
