Support our aid projects
About us
Dentists for Africa (DfA) has been supporting dental and social aid projects in Kenya since 1999. During this time, 14 dental units have been set up in rural areas to give the population access to simple dental treatment. A high HIV/Aids rate in western Kenya turns many children into orphans and women into widows. DfA arranges transparent sponsorships to give orphans in western Kenya the chance of a school education and further professional training. It also supports projects run by the St. Monica widows' cooperative, which enables widows to lead a self-determined life and provide for themselves and their children independently. Former DfA sponsored children are involved in the DfA projects, thus ensuring the sustainability of the commitment. The continuity of the projects and the many years of personal contact with our Kenyan project partners enable a particularly effective and sustainable implementation of the projects on site.
