About us
Window of Life is an initiative which focuses on supporting children, youth and families in need in Eastern Africa by providing home, family structure, medical care and education.
According to UNICEF (2016) more than half of Ugandan’s children suffer from multiple deprivations. Such as basic education, access to health facilities, a decent shelter. These all are cases of violation of basic human rights, due to the lack of publicly founded structures, poor living conditions and financial struggles.
Window of Life faces these violations of human rights in four pillars.
The Window of Life Babies Home saves lives by providing a safe and stable family-like-home, food and access to education through the Scholarship Program. Over the years we have also started the Medical Intervention Program, which successfully supports local families who cannot afford medical treatment. The fourth pillar of our initiative, thenWomen Empowerment Program, aims at enabling women to run their own business.

Sometimes every second counts!
A child in distress - and quick help that saves lives!
Sometimes every second counts.
A few days ago, our medical program was confronted with a particularly dramatic case: A little girl who has suffered from epilepsy for years suffered a severe seizure - and fell into boiling water. She suffered extensive scalding to her upper body and face.

She was taken to hospital immediately, was in severe pain and needed urgent medical care.
For Maria, our project manager on site, it was immediately clear: this child needs help - now.
After a brief consultation and in view of the limited resources available, she admitted the girl to our medical program. She was given painkillers, medication for epilepsy and professional wound care.
Since the world we live in has become increasingly concerned about war, displacement and personal safety, donations for charitable projects are becoming increasingly scarce.
Despite the fact that we will have a reduced budget for this and next year, we have decided to support this child! We want to help where we can and don't want to look away when it is so necessary to look!
What you can do!
Help is only possible because people like you support our work and your donation makes it possible to act immediately when a child is suffering - and to give hope where there is despair.
