Thousands of children in India are forced to leave their homes or live in poor conditions for various reasons. Many of these children land in Bangalore and then on the street. They are exposed to many dangers, such as human trafficking, kidnapping, organized begging, sexual abuse, harassment and child labor.
Many of the children are forced to go to work, among other things, they also have to perform heavy physical work or are used in prostitution work. Some engaged in crimes. Even there are children with mental disabilities found in streets. These stark realities put an end to the future of the child and they are forced to take a very tender age without fault of them a painful life.
Bosco has been committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of these unaccompanied and unprotected children since 1980. Bosco's strategy is the ongoing road presence.
The employees are available 24 hours and 7 days a week at locations such as railway stations, bus stations, markets and slums and on-site and monitor the number of children at risl. Each year an average of 6500 children are contacted and they receive high-quality education, vocational training and family reunion. Further, children and families are supported linking the with the available social schemes and community services.
Project objectives:
• Rescue the vulnerable children in Bangalore at stations, bus stations, markets, slums and streets.
• Family Support and rehabilitate children back to family, provide education and vocational training
• Provide alternative family care
