Über uns
Shelter „Alex“ was opened in 2003 and currently cares for app. 500 dogs, with only 2-3 volunteers and one vehicle. Around 70% are old dogs (some have been in the shelter since 2003/2004). The shelter is funded exclusively by donations, which are not regular or reliable. There is no local or governmental support.
Ways to help the shelter are:
1. We need financial support for vet costs, spay/neutering, vaccination, shelter maintenance, purchasing of hygiene products, paying the fuel for our van, etc.
2. Shelter requires food (granules and canned food, salami, bread, etc), building materials, cleaning supplies, blankets, flea/tick products and anything else that can help the dogs and shelter itself.

Donations that cannot be used for the project
Dear donors,
when managers of a project haven't requested a payout over the course of a longer period, the German law and our terms of use provide that we (gut.org gemeinnützige AG, operator of betterplace.org) use the money for our tax-deductible purposes. The same applies to the cancellation of a project, where the manager of the project is unable to realize it.
Therefore we will use these donations for the following purposes
