Worum es geht

The purpose of Remarkable South Africans, is to inspire, challenge and invite you to be change-makers in your society.

South Africa is often associated with its Apartheid history, with its crime, its increasing poverty and high level of HIV infections. However there is a very different story to be told of the country - one of hope, resilience and positive change.

Together, Line Hadsbjerg and Pep Bonet set out to capture these stories of hope, interviewing individuals across the country who have made an inspiring contribution to the society in which they live. From great visionaries such as Archbishop Desmond Tutu, through to the "everyday giants" who have impacted humanity.

The journey is captured in the form of a coffee table book, capturing the lives of remarkable individuals through moving stories and powerful pictures.

Each person interviewed, has chosen a project of their choice to which proceeds of the book are donated, and to which you are able to be a direct supporter.

See www.remarkableworld.org

A public exhibition of the pictures will travel South Africa, calling on individuals to embrace the spirit of Ubuntu - and contribute to humanity.

"In giving we receive"

betterplace-Team hat diese Neuigkeit am 22. Dezember 2010 veröffentlicht.

The book, Remarkable South Africans has now been officially launched. The current exhibition of pictures from the Remarkable South Africans series is being exhibited at Constitution Hill in Johannesburg until January 2011.

The universe spins according to a very remarkable principle - "in giving we receive". With books being bought, more and more projects will be benefiting from the Remarkable South Africans initiative.

I encourage all supporters of Remarkable South Africans, to continue to spread the word, buy books and make a difference.

Books can be bought through http://www.amazon.co.uk / http://www.kalahari.net
