Mission accomplished & a big thank you
Dear family, friends and colleagues,
after what seems like quite a long journey, last Saturday evening I made it across the finish line in Verbier (see pictures). Following a 10hr 29min race over 62 km (4000 meters elevation — oh my that was some work!) in the Swiss alps, I was able to accomplish my (revised) goal of tackling two back-to-back ‘ultra’ races to raise awareness and funds for the volunteer work at Care in Action in the Ukraine.
Currently the fundraiser stands at €1’260, which next to the races is the real accomplishment. Thank you to all of you who have donated and pushed me on along the way. Rest assured, the funds raised will be welcomed by Care in Action and put to good use with the volunteers.
In the next weeks I will meet with Werner and Janice from Care in Action to talk about the funds and perhaps brainstorm ideas for a longer term project. I will see if I can post updates here at that point from the on-going projects in the Ukraine that you have funded. In the mean time you can of course also follow Care in Action on Facebook.
Again, thank you for your support and
all the best
Hannes
