To the finish line . . .
Here are some words on the final event from the organisers:
The Sahara Race (Namibia) 2016 has come to a close. One hundred ninety-eight competitors crossed the Stage 6 finish line, with the last coming in by 10:30. There were smiles, laughter and beers enthusiastically shared as competitors streamed in to the sound of the local camp team singing and holding flags for each of the 42 nationalities represented. The sun had just broken through the clouds as the first finishers arrived after the 10-kilometer stage in just about 45 minutes. The male leaders - Overall Champion Wataru Iino and Runner Up Tommy Chen - crossed the finish line together, holding hands in a display of true sportsmanship.
