I decided to take on the challenge of The 4 Deserts Grand Slam (completing all of The 4 Deserts in one calendar year) six months ago. Only 47 people worldwide have ever completed this 1000km challenge and in 2016 I will be attempting to add my name to that list. It’s going to be a tough adventure, but I’m looking forward to the challenge and I’m training hard for it.
An equally important challenge for me this year is the goal of raising much needed funds for Song Saa Foundation. I have had a close association with Song Saa since 2010 and I am a great supporter of the wonderful work that Song Saa Foundation continues to do for the local communities, natural environments and ecosystems of the Koh Rong Archipelago.
As a landscape architect, living and working in South-East Asia for almost 30 years, my first visit to Cambodia was back in 1994. At that time I was working on the restoration of two historic hotel in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap and I’ve been fortunate to have been involved on numerous environmental and ancient monument conservation projects throughout Cambodia since then.
4 Deserts 4 Song Saa Foundation is a wonderful way for me to combine my passion for adventure, my passion for the protection and preservation of the worlds unique natural landscapes and my passion to help provide a sustainable future for the environments and people of the Koh Rong Archipelago, Cambodia.
Your donations will greatly support the continued work of Song Saa Foundation and will also truly help to motivate me to hopefully achieve my 4 Deserts Grand Slam goal this year.
My thanks for your support,
