Following India, the medical system in Nepal is now also on the brink of collaps. Currently the incidence of Corona cases doubles every three days, while the Nepalese population is only to 1% vaccinated. Nepal has currently over 4000 Covid-related deaths, with 683 registered only in the last couple of weeks (zdf heute, stand 11.05.2021). Therefore the government has set tough lockdown measures in place that are affecting the people hard. Nepalese hospitals are lacking beds, personell and oxygen - most of everything is lacking. In rural and remote areas the virus is also spreading rapidly, because the poor population can not afford protective gear and disinfectant. Especially small hospitals in the rural part of the country are having dificulties obtaining necessary donations. With this particular donation campaign we intend on helping the Baghauda Hospital in Chitwan near the border with India.
