About this project

Radbahn Berlin enriches the German capital with a progressive and forward-looking landmark. It’s a 9 km long bike path, covered and protected by the structure of the viaduct of the famous elevated U1 metro line. Radbahn is connected through numerous access points to the city, which would allow this project to act also as an innovation corridor for sustainable mobility. Furthermore, Radbahn incorporates innovate renewable energy solutions - inspiring Berliners and guests from all over the world to look toward a low-emission future. The active participation and support of numerous organizations and individuals is what has made this interdisciplinary project possible. All in all, Radbahn is a prime example of a well-thought project that utilizes urban space more wisely and integrates social aspects and human interaction into a mobility concept.
Our project has already received a lot of attention from the public, political entities, and the media - in Berlin, Germany and worldwide. We have invested thousands of (mainly unpaid) working hours, in order to push the project forward. Together with our huge supporter-base, we have published a book in order to prove the feasibility and the enormous potential of Radbahn. Now, we need financing in order to realize these next steps needed to turn Radbahn into reality:
- Continue working with all relevant stakeholders (including policy-makers) and ensure their full support for the project
- Find and incorporate new partners from science, academics, business and NGOs
- Keep the project running in general
We warmly thank all of our supporters.
