About this project
Our goal is to help young people in rural India break the poverty spiral. To do this, we show them what alternatives there are to day wages and factory work. Our approach - similar to German professional training - is to teach both subjects at school and practical skills through hands-on projects with local enterprises. In doing so, we focus on ecologically sustainable job profiles and business models.
In order for this to work, the members of our registered charity work on a voluntary basis. All administrative costs are paid entirely from our membership fees. Your donation goes directly and completely to the project in India.
Most of India's population lives in rural areas and works there in agriculture. There is a high youth unemployment rate in these areas. There has been no training or targeted education in schools to change this. Children and young people therefore leave school too early to learn the skills that could open up new career prospects for them. Young girls are particularly affected by this. Many of them work in the household and are married off very young instead of finishing school.
How are we transforming School Education on the ground?
Our schoolbook program teaches young people skills that will help them pursue a real career or become self-employed. For example, in sustainable agriculture. To do this, they learn practical skills in small projects together with experts and farmers. They learn how solar systems work, how to fertilize soils sustainably, or the role of bees in the ecosystem. In three states, the program is already an integral part of the curriculum. There, we reach more than 400,000 students in 1,000 schools. With just 25 euros, you can equip an entire school class with books and get even more girls and boys involved in the program.
With your donation we will print our school book "Beekeeper Project". The book not only tells a true success story. The book has become a success story itself. The book is part of the lessons on "Education in sustainable professions". Together with beekeepers, students learn how to produce honey and develop their own business plan.
