Schöner Tag promotes intercultural communication and understanding between locals and refugees.
Schöner Tag was initiated in March 2015 by St. Martins Church in Remels and a few psychology students from the University of Groningen. Every two weeks, the students travel to Remels to spend some time with about 40 refugees (mostly from Eritrea, Sudan and Afghanistan) who arrived there recently. The project's main goal is to promote intercultural communication and understanding between locals and the foreign newcomers.
All donations made on this platform are directed toward the charitable funding body gut.org gAG which runs betterplace.org. gut.org then donates – as the charitable funding body – the collected donations onwards toward the projects registered on this platform and subsequently issues the donation receipts.
