About this project

Vaccination can significantly reduce – or even prevent – many of these risks.
But which vaccines are actually useful during this sensitive time for both mother and child? And which ones should be avoided?
Currently, there are no comprehensive, evidence-based guideline in Germany to answer these questions.
The German Foundation for Women’s Health wants to change that – with your support. We are working to fund a new clinical guideline on “Vaccinations During Pregnancy.”
This guideline will offer clear, science-based recommendations on which vaccines are beneficial or even essential during pregnancy – and when vaccination should be avoided. It will address vaccines for diseases such as influenza, COVID-19, and pertussis (whooping cough), among others.
The guideline will reach all 20,000 gynecologists in Germany and potentially benefit 41 million women.
That makes every donation to the foundation highly effective – a strong lever to improve women’s healthcare across the country.
This guideline will be an important resource for both medical professionals and pregnant women, offering reliable information on the benefits and potential risks of vaccination during pregnancy.
Each year, around 800,000 pregnant women – and their newborns – stand to benefit from it.
