About this project

Ronny Krüger from Förderverein Mbuye Farm School e.V. is responsible for this project
"Give a man a fish - and you feed him for a day. Teach him to fishing - and you feed him for life."

Uganda is one of the poorest regions in the world. More than 40% of the people live below the poverty line of $1.90 per day. 50% of the inhabitants are younger than 15 years - so they carry the burden of their country on narrow shoulders.
In order to escape the poverty spiral, the education of these children plays a decisive role.
The Mbuye farm school e.V. has set itself precisely this mission as its goal! Instead of an undirected treatment of the symptoms in the form of well-intentioned aid deliveries, we focus on the targeted elimination of the causes. The future generation should be able to provide for themselves and their families in harmony with their natural environment.

We do not want daily deliveries of fish, but rather the teaching of fishing!

Words are followed by deeds! Since the beginning of our support in 1996, the school has always developed into a beacon of Ugandan education. The already more than 4000 graduates are above averagely successful and frequently start their own businesses. The school is consistently in the top 10 in the nationwide school rankings.

Milestones so far:

    basic structural construction
2 wells of 15m depth for self-sufficient water supply
Construction of a solar system for self-sufficient energy supply

Planned projects:

Construction of a laboratory, a library, a computer room
cold storage room connected to the solar system
Construction of a pig farm + biogas plant
Establishment of a recycling system in cooperation with the surrounding communities.

We make sure to purchase goods and consumables from local companies. The actual use of funds is determined by the school management itself. Help for self-help thus begins with the management and ends with the children.
The pupils not only receive a school education, but are also specifically prepared for (independent) farming life in harmony with their natural environment. The success rate shows that we are on the right track.

The project should be a beacon for other schools in the region and Central Africa. Hunger, violence and poverty can be fought. And not only through outside help, but directly and sustainably from within.

How can you help?
With almost 2 years, Uganda had the longest school lockdown in the world. Only donations could ensure the preservation of the school.
Due to the Ukraine war and the threat of crop failures, the poorest countries in Central Africa are being hit even harder.
The fight for the preservation of the school and the expansion of self-sufficient supply possibilities are more important than ever.

Please support us in preserving the school and be part of a sustainable movement!

We provide regular updates on the current situation and projects at https://schulprojekt-uganda.de.
100% of the donations go to the school!
