About us

The association organizes project weeks as work camps with volunteer helpers. The association’s purpose is to protect, preserve, and maintain the forest—particularly mountain forests and cultural landscapes—and to promote an understanding of the interconnections in nature, the needs of the forest, and humanity’s dependence on these natural resources. It has a flexible and decentralized structure and a lean administration. It finances its work through contributions from its supporting members, donations, foundation grants, and project subsidies. It is sustained by the volunteer efforts of hundreds of citizens.
