About us
Phoenix e.V. was founded in 1993 by Fagbola Austen P. Brandt and is one of the oldest organizations for anti-racist education and empowerment in Germany. The initiative emerged from a collaboration between Black and white activists. Their goal: a just society without discrimination. Phoenix is a network for anti-racist education and practice. It focuses on long-term change in people's thinking and structures. Its services range from empowerment training for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPoC) to anti-racism training for white people, political education, professional development, and trainer training. Phoenix's work is community-oriented, intersectional, and multilingual. The focus is on strengthening collective agency.
