About us
Ekukhanyeni Relief Project has been operating as a Non-Profit Company and Public Benefit Organisation since 2005 in the beneficiary community of Lawley, south of Johannesburg, Gauteng province of South Africa.
Programmes champion poverty alleviation and sustainable community development to improve the capacity of marginalised communities to provide effective early childhood care and education to its children and adult support network and to achieve and sustain food and nutrition security. The model focuses on three strategic pillars of EDUCATE, EMPLOY and FEED.
Today Ekukhanyeni provides Early Childhood Development (ECD) services to 20 Centres where 1 000 children are exposed to formal early childhood care and education and are prepared for school success. Ekukhanyeni is driving a 10-Year expansion project to meet the urgent early childhood development needs amongst children 0-6 years to change their trajectory by creating a larger national footprint of ECD Centres of Excellence.
