About us
The purpose of the association is to promote animal protection, in particular the conservation of marine ecosystems and sharks. Although many shark species are already threatened with extinction, sharks continue to be hunted for their fins in Europe. The aim is therefore to end the trade with shark fins in the EU.

Back in Brussels

October has been an exciting and meaningful month for our team – thanks to your incredible support, StopFinningEU is back in Brussels! Your donations made it possible to temporarily reopen our Brussels office and take part in #EUOceanWeek, one of the key moments shaping Europe’s ocean policy.
As part of it, we hosted our own Shark Lab event with our valued partners in the EU Parliament. We were supported by MEP Manuela Ripa, who stands firmly with us in calling for a complete ban on the shark fin trade. The event brought together Members of Parliament, Commission officials, and ministry representatives from various departments and informed broadly about our common mission for sharks.
Now, it´s finally here. The final sprint for StopFinningEU at EU level – making sure the 1.1 million voices for sharks are heard. Until real change happens.
