🐷 About Rüsselheim e.V. – A Place for Animals with a Future
Rüsselheim e.V. is a non-profit organization founded in 2009 out of deep compassion and love for animals.
Our mission:
To give animals a life of safety, dignity, and peace – especially those often forgotten by society: the so-called “farm animals.”
Whether pigs, cattle, sheep, goats, chickens, geese, rabbits, or former slaughter ponies – they are all sentient beings with a desire to live. In industrial animal farming, this desire is denied: they are exploited, mistreated, and killed by the billions – without ever having a voice.
Rüsselheim e.V. is their voice.
Today, around 2,000 animals live under our protection – spread across foster homes and lovingly run small sanctuaries throughout Germany. Here, they are finally given what was long denied to them: respect, care, and a natural life – free from exploitation.
Our animals are allowed to grow old – they are allowed to be, just as they are.
In addition to our daily rescue and care work, we are also committed to raising awareness. We don’t just want to save lives – we want to inspire change. A shift in how society sees and treats animals used for food and profit.

Unser Zeus
Unser ZEUS ist am 26. Februar im Klauenstand – noch bevor unser Tierarzt mit der Behandlung beginnen konnte – plötzlich zusammengebrochen und gestorben. Ganz aus dem Nichts.
Die Klauenbehandlungen kannte er, denn wegen seiner sehr schlechten Klauen – verursacht durch Mortellaro – musste er etwa alle drei Monate in den Klauenstand.
Wegen dieser Probleme sollte er damals sogar geschlachtet werden. Wir können es gar nicht fassen.
Armer ZEUS.
Nach seiner Zeit als Deckbulle war ihm leider nicht mehr viel Zeit vergönnt.
