About us
Serve the City Hannover e.V. creates opportunities for people to meet across social boundaries. This happens in a very practical way: in short-term projects, every resident of the city can work together in a team according to the motto: "Short time? Join in. Do good"! Invest for a limited period of time for different target groups, occasions and problems and thus make Hanover a more livable city. Whether accompanying seniors to a concert for two hours, spending a morning building raised beds with refugees, or sprucing up the neighboring playground - the diversity of the projects on offer means everyone can think outside the box and use their own skills in new ways use in a manner. STCH is part of the international initiative Serve the City, founded in Brussels in 2005. Since then, the idea of STC has spread to over 100 cities worldwide.

Die Fördermittel dienen insbesondere der Förderung und Stärkung des ehrenamtlichen Engagements im Rahmen unserer Verteilaktionen. Sie werden für die Vorbereitung, Organisation und Durchführung der Einsätze sowie für notwendige Materialien, Transport- und Sachkosten eingesetzt.Ziel ist es, Menschen für freiwilliges Engagement zu gewinnen, ihnen einen niedrigschwelligen Zugang zum Ehrenamt zu ermöglichen und gemeinschaftliches Handeln zu fördern. Gleichzeitig schaffen die Aktionen persönliche Begegnungen mit Menschen in schwierigen Lebenssituationen und stärken Solidarität, gesellschaftliche Teilhabe und den sozialen Zusammenhalt in Hannover.
