About us

The association "Zukunft durch Sonne e.V." (Future through the Sun) emerged from a student working group of the rbz steinburg. In February 2012, we set up a photovoitaik system at the KIUMAKO secondary school in Tanzania, helping to provide it with a reliable supply of electricity. The school is located at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. The students involved worked on this project outside of their school hours and traveled to Mrimbo together with two teachers, set up the system, put it into operation and provided technical training for local staff. Since then, we have been traveling to Mrimbo in a two-year rhythm and carrying out projects for technical supply (sanitation, electrical), encounters and sustainability. When planning the projects, we are in close contact with the local people in order to align them with their needs. The next trip will take place in February 2025.
