HAYAG – Giving Children in Cebu’s Slums a Chance at a Better Future
In the slums of Cebu City in the Philippines, children fight to survive every day.
Many grow up without access to education—surrounded by poverty, violence, and a lack of opportunity.
For too many girls, this path leads to exploitation or prostitution at a very young age.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
HAYAG means “light.”
For over 20 years, we’ve been that light—helping children break free from poverty and build a future of their own.
Through our approach, “education as a pathway out of poverty,” we support children long-term—from the streets into school, vocational training, and meaningful employment.
This isn’t short-term aid.
It’s lasting change.
Our goal is simple:
To give every child the chance to grow up safe, educated, and empowered to shape their own future.
