About us

Since 2008, we have been supporting and empowering neighbors in the north of Kreuzberg. According to official statistics from the State of Berlin, Wassertorplatz is one of the poorest neighborhoods in Berlin (ranked 427 out of 428 in 2022). Behind these figures often lie multiple problems, with poverty linked to unemployment, illiteracy, health issues, discrimination and a general lack of participation. In this context, we aim to improve the quality of life for local residents by supporting individual residents, local self-help, cultural and leisure groups, as well as local associations and initiatives. Our core areas of work include the coordination of neighborhood and event spaces, activities for children and older people and easy-access social counseling in residents’ native languages.

Many areas of our work rely on donations. Every contribution helps – no matter how big or small.
