About us

Since 1979, the international aid organization humedica, based in Kaufbeuren (Bavaria), has been working to ensure that people in need not only survive, but can return to a self-determined, dignified life. This is achieved, also with the support of local partners, by improving living conditions and providing good healthcare, especially in the forgotten crises of the world. Especially after disasters, humedica provides emergency aid, but is also involved beyond that, when others no longer have an eye for people in need. The DZI donation seal certifies that humedica handles donations responsibly every year.

humedica sees itself as an international community of full-time and voluntary employees, donors and supporters who use their resources, skills and gifts in the spirit of Christian charity to help people who are in need as a result of disasters or structural poverty.

humedica now has offices in Lebanon, Ukraine, Ethiopia, Brazil, India and Sri Lanka. Around eighty full-time employees implement international aid for people in need with a network of around three hundred medical staff and coordinators who travel to disaster areas as part of volunteer medical teams and more than three hundred volunteers.
