Daily Report 5 

A lovely hi from Maastricht. I was able to make another early start this morning. The first few miles took me through the harbour. I didn’t expect the bicycle lane to be that busy but it felt like driving on a really busy motorway. So many people heading into town for work. The next few hours were taking me along one of the canals which was great cycling as the path was wide and a lot less cyclists. I managed to arrive quite early in Maastricht so was able to enjoy a lovely afternoon tea. Now I’m gonna relax and enjoy the city before I cross the border to Germany tomorrow.

Liebe Grüße aus Maastricht. Ich habe es geschafft heute morgen früh zu starten. Die ersten paar Kilometer haben mich durch das Hafenviertel geführt und ich habe nicht erwartet, dass die Radwege so früh schon so voll sind. Es hat sich angefühlt wie auf einer vielbefahrenen Autobahn, mit all den Pendlern die in die Stadt geradelt sind. Die nächsten Stunden bin ich anschließend an einem Kanal entlang gefahren, was wirklich sehr entspanntes Radfahren gewesen ist, mit breiten Wegen und weniger Radfahrern. Da ich früh in Maastricht angekommen bin, konnte ich einen leckeren nachmittags Tee genießen. Jetzt werde ich noch entspannen und die Stadt genießen bevor es morgen für mich über die deutsche Grenze geht.
