Liter of Light Switzerland receives Bearing Point special recognition Humanitarian Aid Award

In the past weeks, Liter of Light Switzerland took part in the Be.project, a business plan competition for student social entrepreneurship projects held by the consulting firm Bearing Point. After handing in a first written proposal, our project was selected to take part in the Swiss final round. In this final, four members of Liter of Light Switzerland pitched to Bearing Point for support in creating a global Liter of Light network solution two weeks ago.

The award ceremony took place this last Tuesday and understandably, the ten members attending, were very excited to find out who would win the main price, consisting of a financial investment, one year free consulting services by Bearing Point, and the chance to participate in the European Be.project final. Although we didn’t take first place, Liter of Light Switzerland was recognized by Bearing Point, for our achievements in the area of “Humanitarian Aid”. With this positive feedback, the team enjoyed a great evening in the superb location of the University of Zurich Tower Restaurant. With the city of Zurich at our feet and the snow-capped Alps on the horizon, we recharged our motivation by talking to other social entrepreneurs, and we definitely got very excited for our next endeavors.
