2015 Fotomarathon Berlin

The 2015 Fotomarathon in Berlin took place on the 6th of June -it was a beautiful summer day. Over 200 registered participants came to the start at the Klunkerkranich in Neukölln. Our Partner Panono took a 360° photo, which can be seen here: https://fotomarathon.de/2015/06/startpanorama/

For the first time, we organised a 24h Fotomarathon, with 8 brave participants who made it through the night https://fotomarathon.de/2015/06/24h-pioniere-wir-gratulieren/

The exhibition took place in July -and 159 Series were exhibited. We organised pinhole camera and cyanotype workshops for exhibition participants, in cooperation with AnalogueNOW! and Fotopioniere.

We have always given importance to network with other Fotomarathons around the world, and 2015 was no exception. On the same day, six cities organised their Fotomarathons and we all shared one theme "A perfect place". Participants in Berlin, Amsterdam, Shenyang, Nice, Copenhagen and CArdiff all interpreted what their "perfect place" in their cities was. Each city chose their 3 favourite photos and sent them to the other cities to exhibit.

Continuing the tradition, we also organised a mini-Fotomarathon in December 2015. This was special, because it was part of a federal competition "To good for the trash" -to raise awareness against wasting food. We involved the team of "REstlos Glücklich" and the Fotogalerie Friedrichshain. More DEtails can be found here: https://fotomarathon.de/2016/01/mini-fotomarathon-2015/

For 2016 we have big plans -and we are looking for new members in the team of volunteers that organises the Fotomarathon. Currently the team is formed by four volunteers -all of us with full time jobs and lots of enthusiasm to organise yet another amazing Fotomarathon in Berlin. Working in the team gives us a chance to get to know interesting people and locations in Berlin, meet enthusiastic photographers, and put our creative skills to work: writing, designing materials, choosing photographs, organising the exhibition. It is a great place to try new things in a fun environment, and to develop new skills too, which can be useful in our "day-jobs". We are looking for new members, as a couple of team-members have moved out of Berlin to other cities.
