Get kids back to school is program run by Glona Healthcare and Vocational Academy a registered comunity based charity organisation located in Accra Ghana.
It was established by a family since 1997 to support children from less privileged homes by given them the opportunity to acquire basic education through a program called child literacy and numeracy which includes teaching basic English , Maths , Social and Moral education as well as food, community and personal hygiene thereby improving the academic and social level of the children leading to the creation of an environment where children become beneficial for society as well as improve the level of knowledge thereby creating employment for them during adulthood and also giving them the ability to seek for sponsorship individually to further education after acquiring basic education from our program.
Activities include daily teaching from Monday to Friday located in the La st Paul school block La -Accra- Ghana.
Since the establishment of Glona in 1997 it has operated Voluntarily, Volunteer teachers, Health workers, administrator , graduate , social and moral educational expect has contributed to the success of the program. 365 children and adult have so far benefited from the program, some self-employed and others still furthering their education.
We seek to raise funds to recruit and support 45 children from our target community to benefit from the above program. Funds raise will be use to purchase educative material as such as basic English and maths books for children who cannot read and written , research , design and print visual and written educative material on social and moral education as well as print material on food , community and personal hygiene for less privileged children in a deprived community living in unhygienic environment.
Being part of this change will help reduce child ignorance and poverty, thereby bring hope and healing for the less fortunate child.
