“Even before the escalation of the fighting, the Hodeida people were already extremely vulnerable. Forced to sell their land as a way to cope with poverty, they are now forced to work on the land they used to own as daily laborers, only earning a dollar per day. Now with the increased fighting and insecurity, we are deeply concerned about other coping mechanisms people in Hodeidah will be forced to use such as marrying off their daughters at a very early age so they have less mouths to feed.”
“Even before the war, Yemen had a fragile sanitation system and with the fighting it is only getting worse. Yemen was already at risk of a third wave of cholera even before the escalation of the conflict. The risk of the outbreak in Hodiedah has highly increased and puts tens of thousands of people in danger.”
Bitte hilf den Menschen im Jemen mit Deiner Spende. Vielen Dank für Deine Großzügigkeit.
Liebe Grüße aus dem CARE-Büro in Bonn
