    WHY SEND KIDS TO SCHOOL?
We believe education is the best way to give kids the opportunity for a better future in Tanzania. It contributes to improved health, higher income, and greater gender equality. Education provides skills and knowledge that empower impoverished kids to create a better future for themselves, their families and their society.

ISN'T SCHOOL SUPPOSED TO BE FREE?
In Tanzania, there are mandatory fees and supplies for public school that cost more than many families can afford. This is especially true for the orphans and vulnerable kids that Waza supports.

    WHAT IS PROJECT WAZA?
Waza is committed to ensuring that orphaned kids in Tanzania graduate from high school and have a real opportunity to better their lives. It all started in 2009 when Leeat and Andrea were volunteering in Tanzania. Leeat sent an email to her family and friends in which she shared her story about sending two boys to school. This led to an unexpected outpouring of support from back home where enough funds were raised to send an additional 50 kids to school that year. One year of education is great, but a full education is what is truly needed.

    WHOSE INVOLVED?
The Waza team consists of Leeat Weinstock, Andrea Wolfson, Bryna Dilman and Danielle Olsen who all live in Toronto and imagine a world where every kid can go to school.

    HOW DOES IT WORK?
Waza partners with a local non-profit in Mwanza, Tanzania which purchases supplies locally (supporting local businesses), pays the school fees and works with local communities to make sure the kids are attending school and doing well.

    WHY BETTERPLACE.ORG AND WHY EUROS?
Betterplace is a great website that does not take a cut of donations so that 100% of donor money goes directly to the cause. Currency is in Euros because Betterplace is based in Europe.
