Endlich ohne Kanüle :-) Finally, no more tracheal canula

Wir freuen uns von ganzem Herzen, dass klein ( jetzt etwas größerer :-) Marrelous gegen Ende dieses Jahres ENDLICH die Kanüle loswerden konnte, und nun ganz normal ATMEN kann!

Es war wirklich ein langer, anstrengender Weg für ihn, seine Mama und alle Involvierten. Wir sind UNENDLICH DANKBAR für die wunderbaren Ärzte, bei denen er behandelt wurde, die es mit Eurer (finanziellen) Hilfe möglich gemacht haben, dass er nun ENDLICH wieder alleine atmen kann.

Unser Dank geht auch vor allem an das Keks Team, die sich unermüdlich & in jeder Situation für Marrelous eingesetzt haben- ohne Euch wollen wir gar nicht denken, was passiert wäre. Und natürlich Euch, unseren Unterstützern, die Ihr Marrelous Behandlungen mitfinanziert habt- ihr habt es gemeinsam möglich gemacht, dass Marrelous es bis hier geschafft hat. DANKE DANKE DANKE!!!!

Marrelous lernt im Moment sprechen. Er spricht schon viele Wörter, Englisch und Deutsch. Trinken kann er ohne zu Husten oder sich zu verschlucken. Beim Essen werden wir noch ein Unterstützung brauchen, er wird gefüttert und verschluckt sich oder würgt beim Schlucken. Hier hoffen wir auf eine Unterstützung von Therapeuten. Da er nur Brei oder ganz weiche Nahrung zu sich nimmt, muss er auch noch kauen lernen.
Er ist ein sehr aufgeweckter, liebenswürdiger Junge der gerne alles mitmacht- er liebt auch kochen & essen spielen und hat Interesse an jeder Nahrung, die er nicht kennt- traut sich aber nicht diese zu Probieren. Wir hoffen, dass er hierfür noch Unterstützung findet- da richtig Essen doch ein großer Teil vom normalen Leben ist, und Essen auch Spass machen sollte.
Auch hoffen wir für Marrelous bald einen Kindergarten Platz bekommen zu können, damit er in seiner Entwicklung durch gute pädagogische Arbeit unterstützt werden kann.

We are so happy and overjoyed to be able to share that FINALLY; Marrelous is able to breathe on his own. Doctors were able to remove his tracheal canula towards the end of 2020. We are incredibly thankful for excellent doctors- the procedures have been difficult and complicated- it has been a trying journey for Marrelous, his mother and all involved.

We are ETERNALLY GRATEFUL for all the wonderful support we have received from all over the world- Thank you for making all the difference in Marrelous' life- we don't know if he would be here today without YOU ALL.
Our heartfelt thanks also goes out to the KEKS team, who have supported us EVERY STEP OF THE WAY!

Marrelous is now learning to speak more and more. He speaks English and German words and copies a lot. He is able to drink fluids without choking or coughing, yet is struggling to swallow food. We are looking into getting support for his eating, as he does not know how to chew solid food and chokes/gags mostly when fed. We hope that we can get some good therapist that can help with his development, because being able to eat properly and enjoy food is a big part of a healthy life.
Marrelous is a very active, lovable, clever child who puts a lot of interest into different foods he sees others eat- he likes to play that he is cooking and eating all kind of food, but when offered runs away like it is scary. He does not know how to chew. We hope he will be able to learn this with some professional eating/swallowing therapy.

Also, we are looking into getting him registered in a Kindergarten, where he can make a lot of new learning experiences and receive professional support in his overall learning development.

We are so thankful for all the support we have received and keep receiving. It is a great joy to see Marrelous being able to discover the world breathing on his own, and hopefully soon, being able to eat normally too.
