Give women a chance to access clean water
Ein Projekt von Mitukula Women's Development Association in Kyotera, Uganda
The project intends to construct 10 water harvesting tanks of 10.000 litres each to benefit 3600 people and it is estimated to cost 2100 US$ each tank i.e. 925 for cement, 370 bricks, 285 for hardcore, 300 for sand and 220 for skilled labour

In Kyotera County, dirty and contaminated water is responsible for diseases like typhoid, malaria and diarrhea. Women and children walk very long distances spending much time, which would be utilised profitably carrying very heavy containers of water most especially during the dry seasons when most the wells and ponds dry up. During a focus group discussion, one member lamented. " Water is now a punishment because it is beyond a problem. When you go at 6:00a.m, you can come back at 1:00p.m.
Mitukula Women's Development Association was initiated in the year 2002 by 4 women who wanted to support fellow women improve social and economic well being. To date the organization has registered 25 women groups of 15 members each. The organization has an adminstrative management headed by the projects coordinator, financial administrator and the adminstrative assistant. We have an executive committee supervising the successfull running of the women groups
