    We are running or walking at the waterside next to the scenic Rheinauhafen marina in Cologne, Germany to help break the cycle of poverty by bringing safe water to schools! All donations collected will help bring safe, reliable water to schools in the arid region of Kiluta, Kenya giving 2,000 children the opportunity for education and hope. This project is 1 of 4 schools we are hoping to fund.

    • Each school will construct a large, 104,000 liter rainwater harvesting system to provide clean water for students and faculty.
    • Water will be used for human consumption, food preparation, enhanced studies (like clean water for their science experiments), and for improved hygiene.
    • Each school will also have hygiene and sanitation education; and construct cement stationary hand-washing stations, to support and promote proper hygiene practices.

    Students walk long distances to fetch water. Additionally, 500+ students share just 2 overused latrines each for boys and girls. We would like to provide relief with the addition of 4 new ventilated improved (VIP) latrines for each school.

    Our partner in the field need our support to be able to do the work. We fund these projects so that The Water Project can do the work on the ground.
