Dear Intiwawa community,

many thanks for your ongoing support which keeps our activities running! Read on to find out what we have been doing over the last few weeks:

Christmas in Coporaque! Our Intiwawa team held a Christmas celebration in Coporaque, sharing moments of joy with children, teenagers and older adults of the community. The day included a lively show, a traditional chocolatada accompanied by panettone, and the delivery of gifts that lit up the faces of those present. We had the special participation of the Nunamanta dance troupe, who delighted everyone with their artistic presentations and also contributed gifts.

We celebrate Christmas in Intiwawa! At Intiwawa we experienced a beautiful Christmas celebration full of joy and unforgettable moments. The children participated in fun activities and received their long awaited Christmas present. The teachers surprised us with a special presentation, singing and playing instruments such as the violin and cello, filling the atmosphere with music and emotion. For the families, we organised a raffle of groceries, benefiting both Yachay parents and Warmi mothers. In addition, we shared together a delicious chocolate and panettone, making this date a moment full of union and gratitude.

A Christmas full of smiles and care! Thanks to the dental students of San Martin de Porres University, our children experienced an unforgettable Christmas celebration. The event included a show full of joy and fun. In addition, the students carried out an oral health campaign, handing out dental care products and gifts.

Learning with Sign Language! At Intiwawa, we had a special learning and connecting activity thanks to the visit of a representative of the Deaf Association of Arequipa. During this activity, our children had the opportunity to learn basic elements of sign language, such as greetings, colours and questions. This experience not only allowed them to learn a new form of communication, but also to understand the importance of inclusion and respect for diversity. We thank the Asociación de Sordos de Arequipa for their valuable support and for sharing this meaningful tool with our children. We hope to continue learning together!

Visit to the 40192 Quequeña School! Our teachers from Intiwawa visited Colegio 40192 Quequeña to strengthen ties with the educational community and learn more about the children's environment. During the visit, they shared experiences with the students and interacted with the teaching staff, creating spaces for dialogue and collaboration. These connections allow us to continue improving and adapting our educational initiatives, always with the aim of generating a positive impact on the community we support.

Neurocognitive Stimulation Programme! Thanks to the Kusi project, Intiwawa's High School students participate now in the Neurocognitive Stimulation Programme. This programme, led by our psychology team, is designed to strengthen essential cognitive skills, supporting their academic and personal development. With the commitment of the team, we continue to foster the integral growth of our students, providing them with the tools to face every challenge with confidence and preparation, one step closer to a future full of possibilities!

Emotional Intelligence Workshops! Every Monday, as part of the Kusi project, the psychology interns run Emotional Intelligence workshops for the primary school children of the Yachay project. These workshops aim to strengthen skills such as self-control, empathy and proper management of emotions, providing them with key tools for their personal and social development. Thanks to the dedication of our psychologists in training, we continue to promote the emotional well-being of children.

Psychosocial Surveys at the Parents' school! During the last Parent School of the Yachay project, our Social Work volunteers, in coordination with the Psychology team, conducted psychosocial screening visits to the families of the children and adolescents. These surveys allowed us to evaluate key areas such as family dynamics, housing conditions, health, and emotional and social development, with the aim of identifying the most urgent needs in the community.
