    Über das Projekt

    R. Arqawi von Fragments Theatre ist für dieses Projekt verantwortlich
Fragments Theatre is a cultural organization, founded in Jenin, by a group of actors, filmmakers, and technicians who were inspired by Juliano Mer-Khamis, a Palestinian/Israeli Theatre director who was assassinated in Jenin 2011.Fragments Theatre is registered as NGO in November 2014 NO JN-8276-CU.
This project consist of three activities Psychodrama and Drama
Activities, developing Joha play and video Therapy .Emphasizing the
therapeutic benefit of theatre and arts, the project teaches
participants to use these creative tools as a form of self-reflection,
releasing their energies and developing a greater understanding of
their situation and circumstances in an indirect way, through the arts.
Fragments Theatre will offer regular workshops in psychodrama and
drama activities for children and youth, emphasizing the playful and
therapeutic aspects of theatre. Through these workshops,
participants can explore their internal conflicts and act out their
emotions in a safe and contained structure, through improvisations,
movement and stories, and thus learn to better understand
    themselves and their surroundings.
At the same time the workshops encourage concentration and
commitment, while engaging children and youth in the exciting
process of preparing their own plays, which are presented at Cinema Jenin.
    Video Therapy
The medium of film has proved very popular among youth in the area
and Fragments Theatre has therefore decided to introduce Video
Therapy activities for youth as a complement to its more professional
filmmaking workshops for older youth/young adults.
While learning basic technical skills of filmmaking, the young
participants are encouraged to reflect upon their lives and
experiences through the camera and thereby use the medium of film
in a mostly therapeutic way. The participants will tell their stories
through short films, either fictional or documentary, which will be
screened at Cinema Jenin for their families and friends.
    Joha
Joha is a famous character in the Arab literature, known for his
hilarity and eccentric ways. Appearing across cultures, his character
has been adapted to different settings and audiences, however the
essence of his spirit remains distinct. His wit, ridiculous behavior, and
unique costume make him instantly recognizable.
The return of Joha (New Joha).
A story of Joha and his donkey, Jaljal; time travellers who arrive from
the past, arrived to Jenin City, his donkey was taken by Israeli
soldiers and bombed, Joha will update of the modern life, tells his
own stories in the past and made comparison between his life and
the modern time. Using imagination and humor, Joha pokes fun at
the modern state of the Arab world. Though astute comedic narration
and wry criticism, the storyteller discover how the Arab world has
changed and then he decides to get back to the past.
