Over the last couple of years, more and more refugees have come to Munich in order to seek asylum and find a safe place to live. Feeling at home in a foreign country is never easy and — especially for those who were forced to leave their home country, friends or family behind who suffered from hunger or had to go through a difficult journey — starting a new life is a big challenge.
InterNations and its Munich Volunteer Group have been supporting refugees and their families for more than three years in various ways — though individual and group activities, goods donations and fundraising.
With this online fundraising tool we strive to make it easy for every InterNations member to help. Even if you do not have the time to join one of the activities, you can make your contribution here. We aim to collect money for different causes, in order to bring some joy and well-being into the refugees’ lives.
100% of the money that is collected will go to the non-profit organizations “Caritas Alveni (www.caritas-nah-am-naechsten.de/Migration/Alveni-Fluechtlingsdienste/)” and “Diakonia / Bayernkaserne (www.diakonia.de)”.
What will the collected funds be used for?
Playrooms for refugee children
- toys, pens, board games, arts & crafts materials: 1–10 EUR
Excursions and activities with children
- Excursion package: 8 EUR
zoo, cinema, arts & crafts, museum, bowling, picnic, etc. MVV ticket (public transportation), entrance fee, food & drink
Hygiene starter package
- toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel: 5 EUR
Towels: 3 EUR
Clothing package for women, men and children: 10 EUR
