We need your help for the next step - the red house needs to be renovated.

A few weeks ago the farm worker Raj joined the Akasha Academy in Suntakhan for supporting us with works on the property as well as in agriculture. Raj had to leave his home in Tablejung in the far east of Nepal due to missing job opportunities in that region. Also school for the familiy’s younger son is not available there.
 
 On site of the Akasha Academy a little red house survived the earth quake of 2015. From outside it still looks good, but inside it is in really bad conditions. A part of the house we would like to make home for Raj's family and in the other part we would like to install a space for our NGO coordination work and for visiting volunteers alike.
 
Raj has provisionally prepared a room for him in the red house, but as long as the rooms for him and his family are not renovated, his wife and his son will not be able to move to Suntakhan. Time is critical, since the 8-year-old boy should start visiting school in late summer. Also the current condition of the house is not at all what we would like to see as an appropriate accommodation for anyone working at our premises. Last but not least, we would like to offer the family a long-time perspective in Suntakhan, where we can integrate them into the care of the Akasha Academy's land and agriculture. As of agriculture, organic farming will form an important part of the Academy and contribute to the development of the area.


The house needs urgent renovation - help make it look better soon.


For above mentioned reasons the “red house” needs an urgent general renovation –
It requires repair of the roof, painting of  the interiors, a new toilet, as well as repair or replacement of the windows. On the upper floor, we need to set up a room for meetings and organization. From here the construction work on the Akasha Academy site will be coordinated. Besides, a guest room for volunteers who support us in our charitable activities shall be built next door.
 
 For the work on the "Red House" we calculated a total of 3000 euros.
Please help us to implement all necessary works, so that Raj’s  family can soon settle here, and on the other side, the building of the Akasha Academy can move forward.
