Home sweet home!
A long and stony journey has come to an end. On Saturday, 17th January
2015, Sista Mimi finally arrived in Nairobi, Kenya and was warmly
welcomed by her long-lost family, friends, and loved ones.
Together
they took on the remaining passage of her last journey and arrived in
the small village of Nyahururu where she was laid to rest in peace next
to her grand-father on today’s 20th January 2015.
We, the organising
team as well as Mimi’s entire Kenyan family and friends would like to
thank everyone who has made this possible. Thank you for your generous
support! Thank you for making Sista Mimi’s last wish come true!
On
her behalf we would like to continue to raise money in support of her
daughter’s education. Up to now we have raised enough so that she can
finish her last year of high-school without trouble this term.
However,
it is her profound wish to go on to university thereafter. This can
only be made possible, if she has the financial support needed. Let us
therefore continue to pursue Mimi’s political action and pave the way
for her daughter to receive the same human right for education everyone,
everywhere deserves.
As the late Nelson Mandela once said: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.
Let us be part of the change we want to see.
We are one.
