Through our DARE campaign we aim to 1. break stereotypes and raise awareness in our society of the unique beauty and strength of life that lies in each person with special needs 2. raise funds for helping out these 18 women that are models of life.

Every woman can and has the right to become a role model - a model of femininity, maternity, professionalism, leadership and beauty. But when we are talking about women with special needs, are they perceived by our society as being feminine, mothers, leaders, beautiful and professionals? DARE is an atttiude, way of thinking, if you want a call for action addressed to everyone. The general perception in Moldova about people with special needs is that disability is unsightly. The society often wrongly associates disability with inability of being beautiful, of getting education and / or of pursuing a career. Through our DARE campaign and the DARE Social Fashion Show we aim:
• to break stereotypes and raise awareness in our society of the unique beauty and strength of life that lies in each person with special needs. They are models of life!
• To raise funds for helping out 18 women with disabilities or incurable diseases to make their dream come true e.g. buy necessary medicines / devices, accomplish their studies, and / or build a successful career.

How do we raise funds?
We aim at raising funds on site in Moldova as well as abroad, engaging in this way both the local and the international community in our cause. Particularly we believe that for shaping sustainably the change in the Moldovan society, it is not sufficient engaging the international community solely but also the local Moldovan community.
• The fundraising on site in Moldova is done through several channels: (1) donations from legal persons e.g. companies and associations, (2) tickets sold for the participation at the DARE event to be held on Aug. 16 in Chisinau, (3) donations from physical persons.
• The fundraising from abroad is facilitated through the present platform.

Where do the funds go?
The funds raised by DARE shall be used for the fulfillment of the dreams of 18 women with disabilities or incurable diseases. The profiles of the girls and their dreams are presented on dare.md. These are the dreams of our models and how we offer helping to realize them:
• Maintaining health - offering medicines, devices, and treatment
• Further education - offering scholarships
• Professional development - finding a job or offering funding for a business idea (possible through our corporate partners)
Particularly the funds raised through betterplace.org shall be engaged for the projects of further education and medical treatment of two of our DARE models: Victoria Botan and Irina Trancalan, both needing health treatments.
The costs for the organization of the campaign as well as of the event are covered by our sponsors and volunteers. Hence all the funds raised shall be entirely engaged in the realization of the projects of our models.
We chose betterplace.org because we believe that giving should be non-profit and hence without intermediary costs.
