BANG - Ban All Nukes Generation has brought hundreds of young activists to the fight against nuclear weapons. Until now, we have focused on Europe, building pressure for nuclear disarmament with local actions and national campaigns.
But this global problem needs a global solution. A nuclear war will affect everyone, everywhere. Only by working together with people in all countries can we achieve a world-wide nuclear weapons ban. That’s why we’ve decided to build a global youth network.
BANG’s Game Changers project will kick-start this network. In February 2014, we want to bring 12 experienced young activists from every continent to Mexico. The setting is ideal: over a hundred governments will be at the Conference on the Humanitarian Impact of Nuclear Weapons. This important meeting is widely expected to catalyse international support for nuclear disarmament.
Over ten days, the Game Changers will learn how to organise national movements, how to do effective media work, how to talk to politicians, and how to get the public’s attention. We will put these skills directly to use, asking the governments at the conference to take bold action.
For the project to become a reality, we need to raise 15,110 Euros in the next 8 weeks. Funds raised will above all be used to support the travel and accommodation costs for the participants. Donate to peace this festive season and help us to make this project happen.
