Orchestra100 (O100)

Many students don’t get the opportunity to perform in a large-scale concert, due to a lack of funding and/or time. It is an incredible feeling to create music with groups of like-minded musicians, and I want our students to have the chance to experience this as well as connect with the refugee communities who went through considerable hardship before they settled in Berlin. This will be an amazing opportunity for our students to not only take part in a really special concert, but also to make friends - Freundschaft durch Musik.

As its name suggests, O100 will be made up of 100 students. I am inviting students from grade 4 to 13 from schools and refugee communities around Berlin to come together in October/November (date and time to be confirmed). On the day, we will rehearse from 9am until 4pm, then enjoy an evening meal together before putting a concert on at 6pm. The concert will take place in the WABE Theater Berlin, which seats an audience of over 100 guests. 

Music will be sent out to the participants 6 weeks before the concert so that they will have a chance to rehearse before we come together. 

Putting on an event of this size is going to necessitate some funds to be made possible.
