    Global Welfare Association (GLOWA)
Ein Projekt von Global Welfare Association (GLOWA) in Bamenda, Kamerun
Survivors of child trafficking often become prostitutes and criminals when they break away from their abusers due to limited skills for income generation. Vocational training shall empower them and promote their reintegration in their communities

    Über das Projekt

Jamils Richard A. von Global Welfare Association (GLOWA) ist für dieses Projekt verantwortlich
Cameroon faces one of the most appalling and widespread violations of children’s rights in the world: a child trafficking epidemic affecting the lives of hundreds of thousands of young people. The country has become a source, destination and transit point for trafficked children, who are forced into long hours of hazardous labor or commercial sexual exploitation. As a result, Cameroon is confronted with spiraling juvenile delinquency, adult unemployment, and a vicious cycle of poverty; the victims face physical and emotional trauma, shattered educational prospects, illness and death.
About 2.4 million working children in Cameroon are trafficked from the poor rural communities where they live in ignorance and limited information due to limited communication channels.
Victims are majority girls who fall victims because of ignorance on frequently used trafficking recruitment scans and get exploited in domestic servitude, sakes attendants and commercial sex industries.
Cameroon also has a very long fishing coast where children from Nigeria, Benin and even Togo work in smoking fish, repairing nets and are deprived of education including basis healthcare.
Our project hopes to offer vocational training to 10 children survivors of human trafficking. It shall also counsel and provide start up grants for income generation.
Donations shall pay for apprenticeship, purchase tools for training, health insurance and start up grants for income generation and sustainable living.
