Wisedorme centre provides affordable early childhood education to financially challenged children, placing greater emphasis on quality, discipline, health and talent exploitation. Today, Wisedorme enjoys a group of One hundred and fifty (150) children with baby class, nursery, class one, two, three, four and five. It commenced on 1st January 2007. It’s borne from a team of three needy kids who dropped out of school as a result of lack of school uniform. Goodwill from friends, family members and well wishers has seen wisdorme to where it is now. In order to secure our going concern, we have enrolled a small percentage of children from fairly stable backgrounds who value our high discipline standard and performance so as to leverage financial needs of majority who can hardly afford a dollar per day. Our fees range from 5 dollars and 8 dollars for classes Four and Five. We also accept maize, beans and rice in exchange for our services. This is used to make break time porridge and lunch. Wisedorme’s influence lies in the quality of its services. Albeit limited resources, kids of Wisedorme are outstanding in academic performance, creativity, discipline and esteem. We never target masses/numbers; we are biased on grooming our own, imparting saliency and being morally indomitable. This is why our services are different and our market sufficient and sustainable compared to other key public and private players. Major challenge was encountered after the post election skirmishes in December 2007 and early 2008. The effect of losing kids and parents who succumbed to this quagmire spilled over in Wisedorme School and heightened along the whole financial year following relocation of singled tribes due to fear and discrimination. Albeit more than halving our team, Wisedorme has grown with tenacity to sensitize and campaign for unity, peace and love in our children, parents and our now 15 teachers. Today the main challenge is in operations. Our lease amount has more than doubled due to growing demand for rental houses, real estate businesses and land. Inflationary pressures and recession have also played a negative role. Immense demand has in this service is unmet due to insufficient resources to expand our teacher-student ratio, recreational facilities, books, food and outsourced medical services among others. Our desire is to become a fully fledged institution providing quality education with bias to the financially disadvantaged in the society and the others by segmenting our products. We shall uplift and sustain the livelihood of the poor through forming the best background academically, socially, religiously, politically and health wise. Our future calls for introduction of technical courses. This will enlighten like minded kids who will foster economic growth through small and medium enterprises and produce self reliant youth who are industrious in community.
