Imagine Student Airlift: Support Afghan girls to study in Germany

What is Imagine?
"Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not." We want to change that. This is why we founded Imagine in 2018, a social organization based in Berlin. We imagine a world in which people are not measured by their passports or the color of their skin but by their innately human qualities. With our core program, we support talents from all over the world in their job search in Europe: 500 already found a job and life in Europe with Imagine. Now we plan to expand our program to the aspiring women of Afghanistan.
 
Why did we create the Student Airlift? 

Because: "Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” This program is dedicated to supporting the aspiring women of Afghanistan who cannot continue their education because of the Taliban regime. It aims to provide guidance, administrative support, and financial funding to acquire a university-level education in Germany.

What have we reached so far?
As of today (November 2023), all 10 girls from the first cohort are in safety, studying Computer Science in Berlin, Ingolstadt & elsewhere.
 
We are a ragtag team of volunteers: visa experts, travel agents, realtors, hobby therapists, and university advisors. With this team, and all the hard-earned lessons from last year, we are ready to start anew. The goal: 20 Afghan women moving to safety and starting university in Fall 2024!
