    Über das Projekt

Enrico Huntjens von Hardcore Help Foundation ist für dieses Projekt verantwortlich
Together with our partner Bol-anon sa Germany Boholhilfe e.V. we are organizing a relief action for the victims of typhoon Odette.

Just before Christmas, super Typhoon Rai, in the Philippines known as Odette, made its first landfall, bringing torrential rains, violent winds, mudslides, floods and storm surges to the Visayas and Mindanao Islands.

Overnight, the Typhoon left thousands of families homeless. Odette damaged 1.57 million homes across 11 of the Philippines 17 regions, with around 180.000-200.000 people still displaced – either still in evacuation centers or staying with friends, family or other temporary housing. 61% of all completely destroyed homes are in the most affected provinces Cebu, Bohol and Surigao del Norte. (Source: reliefweb.int on 26.January 2022)

Needs are tremendous. Displaced people require safe, temporary shelter and repair kits to rebuild their homes. Many of them also require food, clean water and medicines. People need access to sanitation and hygiene facilities. The Typhoon left cities and municipalities without electricity, running water or network/ internet connections. Many affected people are now relying on springs and hand pumps for water, many of which are reported to have been contaminated by flood and sea waters.
We were able to pack the first shipments, which goes out to the most affected areas in Surigao del Norte and Bohol with (children’s) clothes, sandals, blankets, towels, hygiene products, first aid kits and masks.

While the first shipments are packed and soon to be picked up we continue to raise funds. The funds from this campaign will buy tools, to help rebuild their homes, solar lamps, generators for electricity and we can organize more of the water filters we already have distributed in Kenya.
