Über uns
Wir stärken diejenigen, die sich für andere stark machen: Freiwillige, Aktivist:innen und Helfer:innen in humanitären Krisen!
In ganz Europa sehen sich grassroots-Initiativen, die Geflüchtete unterstützen, mit Kriminalisierung, Überlastung und Traumata konfrontiert. Seit zehn Jahren sind sie unverzichtbar in der humanitären Arbeit – und werden dennoch oft ohne Unterstützung gelassen.
The Break bietet ihnen zwei wesentliche Dinge:
RETREATS VOR ORT – um innezuhalten und neue Energie abseits der täglichen Intensität zu tanken; um kleine Methoden und Werkzeuge zu erlernen, die die eigene mentale Gesundheit und die des Teams schützen; und um sich mit Gleichgesinnten weltweit zu vernetzen.
MENTALE UNTERSTÜTZUNG AUS DER DISTANZ – langfristige, individuelle Begleitung durch ausgebildete Fachkräfte für mentale Gesundheit in mehreren Sprachen.

Dear all,
When receiving money through the platform betterplace, we are always requested to share a small explanation of how your donations will be/have been used.
As you know, the donations you made through betterplace have allowed us to implement the project TheBreak#1. The budget points included for example travel stipends for the participants, material costs and food for the participants.
Through TheBreak#1, we brought together grassroots humanitarians and activists from different countries to strengthen their resilience & mental health and to create a network of support across and beyond Europe. The first implementation of the concept was a huge success and we would like to whole-heartedly thank you for your support!
All your donations are being spent in line with the tax-privileged purposes that we have as a non-profit organisation. They follow the tax code and the statutes of our organisation "The Break e.V."
