Hello, I bring you greetings from Yama, Ghana.

The past four years have been a season of immersive academic growth in my career. A journey filled with challenges driven by dedication and passion. In 2022, after my first year of studies in the Netherlands, I remember I almost returned home to Ghana as I did not have funds to pay for my second year tuition fees.  It was a moment when I lost hope and lost focus in my studies. I continued praying to God to open doors for me to be able to pay my fees and complete my studies in the Netherlands. Your donations and support enabled me to pay for my tuition and expenses throughout the 4 years of my studies in the Netherlands. Your donations and support went beyond helping me pay for my studies expenses. It also gave me courage and motivation, and enabled me to focus on my studies. 

I am excited to share with you that in October 2025, I graduated from the International Food Business program. I graduated with a dual degree, a Bachelor's Degree in Agribusiness from the Aeres University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Dalhousie University in Canada. This is a dream come true for my family and myself, as I am privileged and blessed to be the first person in my grandfather's lineage to ever attend and complete a university. 

In the final year of my studies, I also founded my own business (Salma AgroTrade) as part of my studies. My start-up is focused on cultivating, aggregating, and trading agricultural commodities like shea nut. This year, we purchased and traded 45,000kg of shea nuts. This resulted in creating seasonal (2-3 months of work) employment for 50 people. The start-up reflects my passion and the application of my knowledge and expertise from my studies to make an impact in the agriculture sector among rural communities in Ghana. I am looking forward to continuing to build and grow Salma AgroTrade to create job opportunities for the youth and women in rural communities in Ghana. 

This journey became successful, and I was able to achieve my dream of studying International Food Business because of your kindness, support, and donations. My family and I are forever grateful. I am short of words to express my sincere, profound gratitude for the support you have shown me. May God bless you and grant you your heart's desires.
