Kagera Development and Credit Revolving Fund

KADETFU (Kagera Development and Credit Revolving Fund) is a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Kagera region. It was registered by the government of Tanzania on 30th July, 1993 under the Trustees Incorporation ordinance cap No. 375 of 1956. According to the new NGO act 2004, KADETFU has now obtained a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) which facilitates its mandate to expand its former area of operation i.e. Kagera region to become a National NGO acceptable to operate to the whole regions of Tanzania Mainland. With this compliance, the organization is a membership oriented.

KADETFU is the winner of the international award known as the LAKE VICTORIA ENVIRONMENTAL AWARD 2006“ that was presented by UNHABITAT for the recognition of her efforts in conserving the livelihoods of Lake Victoria.

In 2008, KADETFU also won the Zonal and National awards known as the CSOS EXCELLENCE AWARD 2008“ that was provided by the Foundation for Civil Society of Tanzania for her excellence in the areas of Transparence, Participatory and Involvement, Good governamce, responsiveness and Accountability“
